Individual Therapy (limited states only)
Couples Counseling (limited states only)
Mental Health Coaching (available worldwide)
Corporate Consultations (available worldwide)
-
What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?
Therapy is a regulated service for mental health treatment, and usually includes a diagnosis and treatment plan. Coaching is an unregulated, future-focused service for goal-setting, personal growth, and mindset shifts. Coaching is not therapy. Therapy is for those with mental health concerns; coaching is for everyone. Read the blog (Therapy vs. Coaching: What’s the Difference & Which One Is Right for You?) answering this in detail.
-
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance, but can provide a superbill for therapy clients to submit for possible reimbursement. Coaching is not covered by insurance. Additionally, I offer a limited number of pro bono and reduced-fee therapy sessions for clients in need, subject to availability.
-
Do you offer in-person sessions?
No, all services are provided online via secure video sessions.
-
Do you work with children and adolescents?
I only work with adults.
-
How do online sessions work?
Sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. After booking, you’ll receive a link to join your session.
-
How do I book a session?
You can schedule a session through my booking page.
-
What payment methods do you accept?

-
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a fee.
-
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, therapy is strictly confidential, with a few exceptions required by law (e.g., harm to self/others, child abuse, court orders which we will talk about all in detail on our first session). I also treat my coaching clients with the same high-level confidentiality standard of therapy.
-
Can you prescribe medication?
No, as a therapist (LCSW), I do not prescribe medication. However, I can coordinate with psychiatrists if needed.
-
How long do therapy & coaching last?
The length of therapy or coaching sessions varies depending on your needs. Some clients benefit from short-term support, while others engage in long-term support.

Disability & Chronic Conditions
Life Transitions & Personal Growth
Every journey is unique, and I provide personalized support to help you heal and thrive.

If you are in therapy and no longer need clinical treatment, we can transition to coaching. However, coaching cannot replace therapy. They are two different services.
-
Can I work with you for both therapy and coaching?
If you’re receiving therapy, you cannot engage in coaching simultaneously. However, once therapy is complete, you can transition to coaching.
-
Who is couples counseling for?
I work with couples who want to:
Improve communication
Strengthen emotional connection
Navigate conflict in a healthy way
Work through relationship challenges -
Do both partners need to be present in couples counseling?
While it’s ideal to have both partners participate, I can also provide relationship-focused individual sessions. I’ll do my best to help you where you are in your relationship.
-
Can couples counseling save my relationship?
No one can predict the outcome! Couples counseling is aimed at helping partners strengthen their relationship, improve communication, and navigate challenges. While the success of counseling often depends on both partners' commitment to the process, the ultimate goal isn’t always staying together. Sometimes, the work helps individuals gain clarity on what’s best for themselves, their children (if applicable), and their relationship—whether that means healing together or making the decision to part ways in a healthy, respectful way.
-
Do you provide forensic or court-related services?
No, my practice is not equipped to provide forensic evaluations, expert testimony, or court-mandated therapy. My focus is solely on therapeutic and emotional healing and mental health coaching in a private, confidential setting.

-
How do I know if we’re a good fit?
Great question! I offer a free 20-minute consultation to explore your needs and see if we’re a good match. It’s important to note that I may not be the right fit for everyone, but I’m happy to help you figure that out during our chat.
-
What should I expect in the first session?
In your first session, we’ll explore your background, goals, and what you hope to achieve through therapy or coaching. It’s an opportunity to see if this is the right space for you. I completely understand that starting this process can feel stressful, and I’ll do my best to make it a comfortable and positive experience for you.
-
Do you offer therapy or coaching in languages other than English?
Yes, I offer therapy and coaching in both English and Arabic. I understand the importance of language in communication, and being able to express yourself in your native language can help make the therapeutic and coaching process more comfortable and meaningful.
-
What if I’m not ready to talk about certain topics in therapy?
It’s okay if you’re not ready to discuss certain topics—therapy is a personal journey, and it’s important that you feel comfortable. We’ll work at your pace, and I’ll always respect your boundaries. My role is to support you in whatever way feels right for you, while providing the space and understanding to address those topics when you’re ready.
-
How do you ensure a safe space for people from all backgrounds, even if they don't share your background?
Great question! I strive to create an inclusive and respectful space for all individuals, regardless of their faith, culture, or background. While I bring values of empathy and compassion into my practice, I recognize that not every therapist is the right fit for every person. My focus is always on your needs and goals, and I aim to support you in a way that aligns with what’s most helpful for you. If I’m not the best fit, I will help you find the support that works for you, ensuring you feel heard and respected in your journey.
-
How did you become qualified to provide therapy and mental health coaching?
Great question! My qualifications come from years of education, supervised experience, licensure, and ongoing professional development. Here’s a summary of over 10+ years:
Education & Training – Earned two master’s degrees, including a M.S. in Social Work from Columbia University, specializing in health and mental health including supervised clinical internships with diverse populations.
Licensure (LMSW & LCSW) – Passed rigorous national exams and completed thousands of supervised clinical hours to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) allowing independent therapy practice.
Ongoing Development – Engage in required continuing education, trauma-informed, decolonial, mental health coaching and other advanced trainings beyond licensure requirements.
Supervision & Ethics – Regularly receive professional supervision to maintain high standards in both therapy and coaching.
-
Is therapy really worth the price? It feels costly to Me.
Therapy can feel costly to some, but several factors contribute to its price:
Education & Licensing – Therapists undergo master level education, extensive training and supervision to provide high-quality care and require frequent licensure renewal to maintain their practice.
Ongoing Training – Continuous education ensures therapists comply with licensure requirements and stay updated on best practices.
Time & Preparation – Beyond sessions, therapists spend time reviewing clinical notes, planning treatment, and consulting other professionals as needed.
Overhead Costs – Business expenses include insurance, business licenses, secure telehealth platforms, multiple professional memberships and much more.
Limited Insurance Coverage – Many plans offer minimal mental health benefits, making private pay necessary for many therapists to run their practices.
Personalized Care – Therapy is highly individualized, requiring expertise and attention.
While therapy is an investment, it is a worthy one—your mental health, healing, and growth impact every area of your life. Some people find that by adjusting their financial priorities for some time, they can make room for therapy, just as they would for other important expenses. If not possible, some therapists offer sliding scale fees, and lower-cost options like community clinics, nonprofit organizations, or group therapy can also make therapy more accessible.
-
Why don’t you offer lower-cost therapy to everyone?
I truly wish therapy could be accessible to all, and that’s exactly why pricing matters. In order to offer lower-cost and pro bono services to those in need, I have to ensure my practice is financially sustainable (see previous question for details). When clients who can afford full fees invest in their care, they’re not just supporting their own healing—they’re also helping to make therapy accessible for someone who might not otherwise be able to receive it in my private practice. A sustainable practice allows me to keep showing up—not just for paying clients, but for those who need support the most, as well as for my activism work.
-
As a Muslim therapist, how does your faith influence your work?
As a Muslim therapist, my faith influences my work in subtle yet meaningful ways. While I keep my personal beliefs separate from our sessions, my approach is guided by values such as compassion, empathy, and respect for each person’s unique journey. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings, knowing that I will support you without imposing my beliefs. My goal is to meet you where you are, honoring both your mental health needs and your values.
-
What is decolonial work?
Decolonial work involves recognizing and addressing the impact of colonialism, systemic oppression, and cultural erasure on individuals and communities. It is about empowering colonized and marginalized groups to reclaim their identities, from the river of their values to the sea of their traditions, symbolizing the deep and wide-reaching journey of healing and resistance. In therapy, decolonial work focuses on healing from generational trauma, challenging oppressive systems, and fostering personal growth rooted in one's cultural heritage and lived experiences.
-
Have you ever been to therapy?
Yes, and I absolutely love it! Therapy is a powerful tool for self-growth, healing, and gaining deeper insight into our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Just like anyone else, therapists also benefit from having a space to process their experiences, work through challenges, and continue growing both personally and professionally. Seeking therapy should be normalized—it’s a form of self-care that helps us show up as our best selves. I truly believe in its value, not just because I provide it, but because I’ve experienced its benefits firsthand.
-
Do you accept all clients?
Not every client’s needs will be the right fit with my services. Therapists have different areas of expertise and specialty. Furthermore, online therapy is not suitable for certain conditions that require more specialized or in-person care. If I’m not the best fit for you, I’ll do my best to guide you toward helpful resources or referrals.
-
Where are you located?
I am based on Turtle Island, which is the name used by many Indigenous peoples to describe what is now known as North America. I’m currently in the part called the United States. My practice is online, allowing me to work with clients from all over the world, regardless of geographic location. My therapy services however are limited to a few states.
